Attention Commercial Website Owners...
"It Seems Incredible That You Can Now Easily & Automatically Put Your Own Fresh & Relevant Content On Your Site And Make More Sales!"
Best part: You can do this in less than a day and have it running AUTOMATICALLY thereafter. Almost NO ONE is doing this...
Today, more and more organizations are realizing that their web content is a valuable asset. They are scaling down investment in new technology and ploughing money into web content instead. They are doing this because they have woken up to fact that content, especially frequently changing content, generates sales.
Technology may help to speed up operations and therefore cut company operating costs, but technology alone will not generate sales. Without sales you have no business.
Unprofessional organizations are those which put up content once and leave it at that, hoping that sales will be readily made. They do this because they are lazy with their content. It is the static web sites of these lazy organizations, created by "put-it-uppers", i.e. IT managers employed to do menial tasks, that are now failing to attract new business. Those web sites are plunging down the search engine rankings.
Why?
Because today, the major search engines and potential customers are actively looking for "fresh content". And not just any form of fresh content by the way; they are looking for "relevant" fresh content which is 100% specific to the web site in question, not pilfered from dodgy newsfeeds, for example.
Is your web site static? Does it show never changing information day in and day out? If it does then you're definitely suffering from "poor sales syndrome". Need a solution? Then replace your "put-it-upper" with an "automated fresh content updater".
For those organizations that have replaced their "put-it-upper" with an "automated fresh content updater", the Web is at last working. The future, therefore, is in web content management. This is the new game on the Web.
Want to know how a static web site generating poor sales can be transformed into an active one generating lots of sales by using technology coupled with web content management? Then read on...
Your web site needs lots of traffic to generate sales. To get traffic you can use promotional methods such as advertising in printed publications, advertising in ezines, sending out e-mail's or using classified ads on the thousands of classified-ad web sites. But these promotional techniques take time, effort, and in some cases money to achieve the desired results.
However, the most cost-effective way to drive visitors to your web site is still through the search engines, mainly because it is basically free advertising.
In the recent past all you had to do to get good traffic was to submit optimized web pages to relevant search engines. If you got it right you would get a top 10 listing under specific keywords or phrases.
Today there are two major search engines to which you can submit your web pages. Both of these engines use data gathered by themselves and from a variety of smaller search engines, web crawlers and various directories. The two major search engines are Google and Yahoo Web Results, and of these two it is the Google search engine which is most widely used by surfers.
But things are about to change with rival engines finally catching up with Google.
The world's #1 search engine has lost its edge. This is the considered view of software engineers testing the beta version of Microsoft's MSN Search service. The quality of search offered by MSN Search will soon match that of Google. Indeed, Yahoo's search engine already does.
Google shot to glory with its Advanced Link Analysis, which allowed it to find the most relevant search hits in seconds. This spot-on searching became very lucrative for Google.
Google also developed an algorithm called PageRank, which was patented by Larry Page, one of Google's cofounders. PageRank determines the importance of a web page by the number of web sites linking to it, and then weights those links according to other factors, one of the chief factors being page update frequency.
But while the PageRank algorithm belongs to Google, the link analysis underlying it is just a general method for studying connectivity in networks; it therefore cannot be patented. This allows other search engines to 'couple' link analysis with their own weighting data. It is not the same algorithm as Google's, but it is the same idea.
Although Microsoft's beta version of MSN Search had a few initial glitches when it went live, surfers saw a leap in the quality of Microsoft's search hits. Like Google, the MSN Beta Search also uses link analysis. The differences between the two are slight. Both search engines search an index of all the web pages they have scanned with their spiders.
Microsoft's engine claims an index of 5 billion pages, against Google's 8 billion pages. However, whereas Google re-indexes once a month, MSN Beta Search promises to re-index every week to ensure relevancy and availability.
But the size of an index does not matter. Expanding an index only increases the chances of finding something obscure, and adding more pages requires more servers and smarter search software.
MSN search tries to parse and answer natural-language questions such as: "What's the capital of Australia?". Surfers can 'fine-tune' their search by adjusting the weight given to the popularity, importance, and update frequency of web pages.
Surfers can also localize searches because MSN Search can work out the location of their computer from the Internet protocol address. Google only does that when surfers type their location.
Google, however, will probably remain the top search engine, with its Google toolbar, its new Desktop Search, its Gmail, and the fact that it will remain top in people's minds. Google is synonymous with the term 'search', and that's a big challenge for Microsoft.
A clear link between Google and MSN Search in the way they weight web pages is update frequency. Both engines probably frown upon web sites which have continuously static content, that is, web sites whose pages do not change for weeks or even months on end. Both engines give preference to pages which change frequently. This is because newly updated pages are seen having more value to visitors than static, never changing pages.
Giving Google and MSN Search fresh, up-to-date information will be enormously beneficial. The more frequently that changes to web pages are made, the better.
Frequent fresh content is sought by surfers and search engines. Having it on your web site will "boost" your web position and generate sales.
Having fresh content on your web site each day will not only keep Google's and MSN's spiders paying your site frequent visits, it will also keep your visitors coming back to see what's new. And when they come back there's always the chance of a new sale. Now that's how the web should work!
But there's currently a "big" problem here. The question now is:
"How do you, as a web site owner, go about adding fresh content to your site without having to do that manually each and every day?"
It can be done manually, but the process is so time-consuming that sooner or later you'll get fed up with the daily chore. Besides, you've a business to run. Let's have a look at the ways you can get frequent fresh content on your web site.
Using newsfeeds is one way of having fresh material on your site each day, but there's a problem here, even though newsfeeds appear to be free and automatic. The problem is in the way that newsfeeds are written; they are basically JavaScript or VBScript.
Unfortunately, these scripts must be executed by search engine spiders for the new content to be noted, and since spiders take a simplistic approach when reading web pages, these scripts will not be executed at all! But this does not stop your visitors from viewing the feed contents.
Newsfeeds are also called Really Simple Syndication, or RSS. They are in XML format and are designed for sharing news content and headlines. The web sites which pump out these feeds want their feeds to be syndicated - they get free publicity and more traffic that way! But as those sites have total control over the contents of the feeds, you have no choice as to what will appear on your site if you display the feed. (There are rumors that spammers are getting into newsfeeds.)
Now, there is a way of by-passing the Java or VB scripting language and extracting the HTML with software before placing the contents of the feed on your web pages. This will then make the contents of the feed visible to search engine spiders. Extracting the HTML, however, requires that your server supports PHP and perhaps MySQL. Many servers don't support PHP, therefore this is not a global solution to the freshness problem.
Really, the use of RSS feeds is just a ruse - you get fresh content, it makes the spiders take note (if the HTML has been extracted beforehand), but is it any good for keeping visitors that come from the increased traffic at your site? The plain answer is NO. And here's why...
RSS feeds DO NOT promote YOUR products or services. They may generate extra traffic, but what use is the extra traffic if hardly any of your new visitors buy anything from you? They come to read the feeds and the feeds then do exactly what the feed suppliers want them to do:
To get the new traffic going off to THEIR sites!
Companies and organization don't pump out feeds for nothing - they use them as a tool to increase the traffic on their sites, which is why the feeds are free!
In a nutshell, HTML extracted from RSS feeds will give your site fresh content daily, will increase your click-thru rate, but the quality of the new traffic in terms of generating extra revenue via more sales will be very poor.
"Wouldn't you rather have fresh content that is totally and absolutely geared to YOUR products or services instead?"
And what about blogs? Blogs are indeed search engine friendly because of the constantly changing content that appears daily. However, blogging requires the use of blogging services or special blogging software, and bloggers must write compelling, well-written content every day. The vast majority of webmasters and web site owners just don't have the time to write blogs every day, 365 days a year. It can be done by the very talented few, but for most, blogging is simply not on.
As you read these words, blogs are increasingly being parasitized by spammers - and all that the spammers are looking for is to boost the Google rankings of their spam sites. Here's how it works. A genuine blogger thinks it's a good idea to allow readers to comment on what he says. So he allows anyone who reads his blog to write a comment. No registration, no clicking on a link. Just let them type some text, click a button, and their comment appears.
But the reality is that a spammer finds the blog and posts junk with lots of links on it, even if the blog is no longer visible, using automated systems working much faster than loads of people. The spammer does this for two reasons, both of which are to do with search engines.
Firstly, Google treats blogs as more important than normal web sites with static content because blog content changes so much more quickly. Google's Freshbot spider will therefore return to the blog.
Secondly, Freshbot looks for changed information, and when it finds the spam comment with the comment's associated links, it indexes those links.
The result for the spammer: an unprotected blog is an easy way to get into Google's index to promote pointless but profitable pursuits such as on-line card games, miracle pills, drugs and the like. Many bloggers just don't realize their blogs are being used this way.
"Wouldn't you rather have something which adds your own, spam-free fresh content automatically to your web site each day instead?"
So what else can you do?
You could use Server Side Includes, or SSI's. These are HTML statements which tell your server to include a block of specific text when the page is served to a browser or even a spider.
The snag with SSI's is that not all web hosts support them, mainly because of performance penalties on their servers. This comes about because the server must read each and every page, looking for the include statements. And anyway, you have to alter the SSI's includes on your server manually each time you want fresh content to appear on your pages. This is not a good idea.
"Wouldn't you rather have fresh content that appears on your web site simply by switching on your computer?"
In summary then:
Blogs, RSS newsfeeds and SSI's are NOT recommended as ways for normal businesses to keep their web sites fresh with new content each and every day.
Which leaves you with just one, and only one alternative:

AutoPageUpdate is a brand new, easy to use, versatile 'unique' application which delivers your own fresh content to your web site automatically.
From a series of keyword-rich blocks of text (or even complete web pages), which you feed into the program beforehand, AutoPageUpdate will automatically upload your fresh content at a time determined by you. You'll see the results on your web site immediately. This is what the Google and MSN Search wants to see.
With AutoPageUpdate you just give the program your web site details, add one simple piece of HTML code to the local copy of the web page residing on your computer which you want updating, fill in a range of update fields with keyword-rich fresh content for that page, and save your work.
And that's it! AutoPageUpdate will then upload to your server fresh content that is 100% specific to your site. What you upload to your web page will be of your own making, and not dictated by alien things such as 'visitor-stealing' newsfeeds. Besides, keeping your fresh content 'keyword-rich' will be beneficial when the smaller search engines visit your page.
AutoPageUpdate Is NOT Availiable Anywhere Else On The Web!
Although AutoPageUpdate is specifically designed to help webmasters and web site owners to maintain or to increase their listings on the big search engines, even during the turbulent times when Google's algorithms are being changed, it can be used to benefit you in many other ways:
AutoPageUpdate can be used for blogging, with the benefit of preparing your blogs well in advance. Unlike paid-for blogging services and special blogging software, you'll have full control over the HTML, and you won't be paying any fees!
With AutoPageUpdate you can have a rotating series of banners which change as frequently as you want them to.
AutoPageUpdate will allow you to alter your 'style-sheets' on a daily basis. Why stick with just one color scheme when you could easily have a different one for each day or week, or whenever?
If you have Google-style ad boxes on your site, you can use AutoPageUpdate to rotate links, similar to Google's adwords. See fabulous-forest.com for an example of this.
If you have products listed on 'Froogle', then you will know that Froogle recommends that you upload your data-feed at least once each week. Now with AutoPageUpdate you can do that 'automatically', and never forget to do so!
You can use AutoPageUpdate to impress your visitors with 'seasonal effects'. On the lead up to special occasions such as Christmas and New Year, you could have your 'seasonally-themed' web pages loaded with messages. Now you don't have to be there in the office toiling away, you can be out having fun instead!
You can use AutoPageUpdate to advertise 'Today's Featured Product' on your home page if you you are retailing a host of products on your site. See VGS-Health for an example of this.
Instead of updating just part of a web page, why not change the page completely? With AutoPageUpdate you can now produce completely new web pages and have them uploaded at the time of your choosing... automatically!
With the Professional and Enterprise versions of AutoPageUpdate you are not limited to HTML. Gif and JPEG Images, PHP, and ASP on specific web pages can be updated automatically.
Corporate organizations can now save money with AutoPageUpdate. Why employ expensive web page developers every time you want to alter the contents of your web pages? You can now do it yourself in advance and have the pages ready set so that they go live on the date of your choosing.
With the Enterprise edition of AutoPageUpdate you can program your company server to ensure that fresh content appears on your multiple web sites every day, even when you're away on vacation!
If you're into web marketing you can use AutoPageUpdate to easily and quickly run split tests! Normally, split testing is a process of showing just 2 different versions of a web page (sales letter) to your visitors. It's a procedure that involves using a service or running a script on your web site. But why bother with all that when you can use AutoPageUpdate to do the same thing without paying others or running scripts on your site? In fact, you could easily show as many different versions of your sales blurb as you want, and at any time interval that you want! It's a piece of cake and it won't cost you a penny more to do!
All in all, what you'll have with AutoPageUpdate is your own, specific fresh content on your web site each and every day, all under your control, so when Google's and MSN Search's information-hungry arachnids' come calling, they'll take away something new and let the world know about it! You'll be effectively spoon-feeding those big search engines with fresh content, which is what they now desperately seek.
AutoPageUpdate is currently the only application of its kind available anywhere on the web, written specifically for webmasters and web site owners who need to be indexed highly on the search engines and to attract and keep their customers.
"With AutoPageUpdate you don't have to get your daily fresh content by time-wasting blogging; you don't have to mess around with tedious SSI's; you don't need to use suspect RSS newsfeeds."
"With AutoPageUpdate YOU remain in control of what appears on your web sites and web pages. You'll be having your own 'spam-free' fresh content targeted at your customers; and you'll be spoon-feeding the search engines with your specific keyword-rich fresh material - automatically."
Remember, the major search engines, Google in particular, will continue to change their listing and ranking systems, dropping pages, elevating pages, etc. No web site will stay in a favorable position for too long. But if you use good software such as AutoPageUpdate to supply keyword-rich fresh content to your site every day, it will certainly help you maintain your web positions or even achieve the positions you're striving for.
